Do not follow where the path may lead.
Go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.
-Harold R. McAlindon
My name is Dan Kowalsky, and I am a recent graduate of Marquette University with a degree in Marketing from the College of Business Administration. In the present I am pursuing any Milwaukee-area opportunity in marketing, advertising, digital media or sales that is challenging, fun, and surrounds me with great people.
I was born and raised in Milwaukee, WI and currently reside in Menomonee Falls, WI with my family. I am the oldest of two children. I am extremely close with my younger sister, Christina, who will be a sophomore at Marquette University in the fall. My faith and my family are my two most driving passions, and the loving support of my family is the reason why I am where I am today.
Other interests of mine include traveling, learning to cook (and sometimes failing..), reading, blogging about the Packers (shameless plug), and coaching. Very few things have been as fulfilling to me as taking a group of high school freshmen, working with them for four years, then watching them leave as better players and, more importantly, as better young men.
I am a third generation Marquette graduate and am proud to now be able to call myself an alum. My four years at Marquette were certainly the best of my life, and the relationships built there are something I will continue to value. Having the instant connection with fellow Marquette alumni and students around the Milwaukee area and experiencing that camaraderie is something I enjoy on a daily basis.
I am considered by many to be fiercely positive and optimistic, a good story teller, a better listener, and someone who will always try to do the right thing. I can only hope that I will continue to meet and exceed those expectations.
I am also a proud Wisconsinite and love the culture of Milwaukee and the rest of the state. I'm an avid supporter of all Wisconsin sports teams, most notably the Green Bay Packers. That interest expands further into other areas of sports: business, media, strategy, culture and the convergence of all of the above. I hope to some day have a career in sports marketing or sports media.
